Recently, Danang has seen its name at the top of
TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Destinations on the Rise for the year 2014. How come could
this once-a-forgotten-land-on-Vietnam-travel-map turn into one of the most
promising destinations in the world? Here’re the 4 answers to that question:
1. There’s a place to
stay and relax for everyone everywhere
Since Furama, the first 5-star resort opened over a decade
ago, the city has welcomed a whole lot of new high-end properties year after
year. The avenue along the beach where Fusion Maia, Pullman, Park Hyatt Regency
situated is now called “The Five Star Road” the locals. The newest member of
Danang’s beach resorts collection is the multiple award-winning
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on the secluded Son Tra. Besides,
there’re also plenty of 3 and 4-star hotels scattered across the vibrant city
center, most notably the Novotel Danang Premier Han River. When staying at
Danang, you will never run out of accommodation of choice.

2. Long stretch of white sand beaches
The seemingly endless beach fully circles the eastern edge
of the city. The communal beaches are packed with people, both the locals and
travelers, but do offer lots of fun activities at a reasonable price.
Otherwise, if you want some privacy, stay at one of many beach resorts here.
Non Nuoc Beach and My Khe Beach has long been considered two of the most
beautiful beaches in Vietnam, with sun-kissed sand and blue water. For a
one-day getaway, take a speed boat and head for Cu Lao Cham Island. There’re
many exciting outdoor activities and sports which are perfect for group
travelers.

3. Good eats
Danang is indeed one of the most underrated culinary
destinations in Vietnam. The local cuisine are better-known to Vietnamese than
to foreigners. For a long time, My Quang (Quang Noodles), Bun Thit Nuong
(Vermicelli with Grilled Pork, different than Bun Cha in Hanoi) and
Banh Trang Cuon Thit Heo (Rice Paper Roll with Pork) has been considered delicacies
not just in the city but across Vietnam. Plus, with the rapid development,
Danang now has many restaurants that feature some famous cuisines in the world
in case you miss pizzas or sushi.

4. A walk along Han
River
If a beautiful girl needs a dazzling piece of jewelry, a
beautiful city needs a charming river. In fact, most of the world’s greatest
cities are paired with a famous river. Paris has La Seine, London has The Thames,
New York has the Hudson. In Vietnam, while Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City has Red
and Saigon River respectively, Danang is adorned by the idyllic Han River. This
city is at its best when the night falls and the unique bridges on Han River is lit up. The most famous one is the Dragon
Bridge, a symbol of this Asian supernova. In the evening, this huge dragon can even
breathe fire. A walk along Han River is a must when visiting Danang, especially
for couples.
