Thailand is blessed by some fantastic beaches and a plenty
of pristine islands. Here are 5 of the most beautiful islands in Thailand for
your summer getaway.
1. Koh Phi Phi
Koh Phi Phi is a green
tropical archipelago near Krabi. Indigenous people have lived on Koh Phi Phi
Don Island since a long time ago. Koh Phi Phi Leh Island is famous for being
background of the 2000’s movie “The Beach”.
2. Koh Tao
Koh Tao is a
favorite destination for people who seek for leisure holiday. This is also an
ideal spot for scubadiving, fishing, hiking and walking. Although some new
tourism infrastructures have been installed, (bars, resorts, clubs) most
visitors come here because of the natural beauty which is hardly affected.
3. Phuket
Phuket is the name
province, which contains one main big island and many smaller islands. The
number of visitors to Phuket is only surpassed by Bangkok. There’re everything
you would expect in a beach here, from the beautiful coast, resorts,
restaurants, bars, clubs, to shopping malls and golf course. There are also
many flights coming here from Bangkok and other big cities such as Chiang Mai
and Udon Thani…
4. Koh Phangan
Located between Koh
Samui and Koh Tao, Koh Phangan is a famous destination for backpackers, with
many nice beaches and tropical forests. On an annual basis, there will be
musical and dance festival, known as Full Moon Party, a prime time for endless
fun on the beach.
5. Đảo Ko Samui
Koh Samui is one of
the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. Resorts here are sumptuous,
not to mention hotels and bungalows, from deluxe to luxury. Koh Samui is also a
common place for several local festivals from buffalo fight, art festival,
street festival to boat race.
6. Koh Lanta
Koh Lanta is
another “satellite” archipelago to Krabi. To the west of the island, there are
many resorts and bungalows. This area is a perfect land for underwater sports,
watching coral reefs and experiencing the local fishermen’s daily lives. There
are chances for watching giant whales as well.
