Indian Railways Train Classes

Indian Railways comprises of several classes which many people are unfamiliar with. To understand all the categories better, we have put up an explanation for what to expect in every class available in the Indian Railways.
Unreserved General Class
This class is meant for people who cannot afford to spend too much in buying a ticket, as well as those who were not lucky to secure a confirmed ticket in the sleeper class. Reservations are not necessary and overcrowding is quite a normal phenomenon in the coaches. Standing and sitting room is available, but many choose to use the floor space to lie down as well. The unreserved class is not ideal for long distance traveling.
Second Class
You will need seat reservations for the Second Class category. This class is ideal for daytime intercity travel without investing a lot of money. The seats do not recline but are cushioned in a bench-style fashion. The Sleeping facility is not available here. Though reservations are necessary, many can be seen traveling without a ticket.
Sleeper Class
Sleeper class is ideal for the middle-class community. Use railway apps to check live running status after you have made your seat reservations. Carriages have open-plan compartments containing six beds. Middle beds can be folded flat in order to allow every passenger to sit comfortably. Two more beds are placed along the aisle. Washrooms are of both Indian and Western styles.
Three Tier AC Class
This class is also called 3AC and is preferred for the comfort and peace it provides. The arrangement is similar to that of a sleeper class. But, the windows are tinted and cannot be opened. Passengers are provided with towels, pillows, sheets, and blankets. If pantry service is available, meals are also provided at specified timings.
Two Tier AC Class
Upper-class travelers prefer the Two Tier AC Class. It has more space as there are four beds instead of six in every compartment. Similar to the other classes, two beds are also present along the aisle. Towels and bedding materials are provided to every passenger, as in case of 3AC. Curtains are present to provide privacy to the travelers.
First Class AC
The cost of this class is twice the amount of 2AC and is similar to air travel. Compartments have lockable doors, containing four or two beds. The beds are also wider as compared to other classes. Room freshener, towels, blankets, pillows, and sheets are all provided to every passenger.
Other than these classes, there are several other classes in chair cars. We are going to discuss them in brief.
  • Executive AC Chair Car: These are super-fast and run only between major cities, like Jaipur, Agra, and Delhi.
  • AC Chair Car: These are meant for shorter distances between several major cities. The carriages are little more crowded than the Executive Class.
  • Second Class – Jan Shatabdi: This is a budget train. It includes non-AC and AC coaches.
Now that you know the different classes available in Indian railways, carefully evaluate your finances and comfort requirements and make reservations accordingly.

The vendors in Hanoi Mesmerize the Lady from Netherlands

Loes Heerink, a Dutch photographer waited for hours on the bridge to catch the moment when the vendors passing by. The special images will be present in the upcoming photo book of her.

Living in Hanoi in 4 years, Loes Heerink said, the vendors on the street gave her the inspiration to make a photo book right at the time she arrived in Vietnam.

The last image of a street vendor selling flowers was taken from the bridge by Loes two months before she came back to the Netherlands. Loes said while she was here, she spent a lot of time on the bridge to wait for the vendors passing underneath.

The reason for her to choose this corner is the photos would only have the image of the vendor – without any other factors.

"I want people to see what I saw. I believe that these street vendors create pieces of artwork every day" she shared.

The photos were taken at various sites in the city by Loes, such as from the balcony of the restaurant in the old town, or from the bridge.

Sometimes she has to get up very early to wait for the vendors passing. Sometimes she took time for the break at noon or weekend to “hunt” the precious moments from the street vendors.

"Sometimes I have to wait in 5 hours without taking any photo," Loes shared.

Loes also took the time to talk to the sellers. They shared with her about their livelihood by selling fruit, vegetables and other things on the bike.

She is planning to return to Vietnam to continue another project of photo book about the vendors. Loes also set up the website Kickstarter to raise funds for the project. The photo book about the street vendors will include about 100 photos.

How to Avoid Common Cruise Holiday Mistakes – Getting to the Port

From forgetting one’s passport (or getting to the port to discover it’s out-of-date) to packing too much or too little, there are many mistakes that could be made when preparing for a cruise holiday.
Cruise holidays are a little different from other holidays, for example, flying abroad and backpacking, or even package holidays where flights, accommodation, and transfers are all arranged, but the same principles still apply – prepare yourself well, make sure you’ve done your research and get to the departure point (the airport or port) safely and on time.

Research Your Transportation Options

Depending on the port you’re departing from, you may have many options to get there or you may find that your options are very limited. However, your main options will likely to be one or more of the following:

  • Bus or Train (you’ll likely have to call a taxi or an Uber as well)
  • Taxi or Uber (this option can be expensive over long distances)
  • Drive your own car and park at a long-term parking facility

The best option for you isn’t necessarily the most affordable one, but the option that offers you the right combination of cost-effectiveness, convenience, and safety. Long-term portside parking is very secure and the rates are cost-effective, but you may find there’s an excellent public transportation option that works out more affordable.
However, public transport isn’t usually very convenient when traveling to a port and you don’t want to miss the bus or train as this would complicate things and get your holiday off to a poor start – a mistake many holidaymakers have made. That’s why it’s better to look into your other options which are catching a taxi or Uber, or driving to the port and using one of the parking facilities there.

Taxi/Uber or Drive and Park?

It really depends on the distances involved and the number of people you’re traveling with, but generally speaking, driving to the port and parking there is usually the best option available. This is especially the case if you’re traveling with friends and you can split the cost of parking, which is quite affordable these days due to the competition between parking providers. Here are a few commonly made mistakes to be aware of and watch out for:

  • Not researching taxi or Uber rates – It may be a lot more expensive than you think. You have to be aware of, among other things, peak travel times and wait times.
  • Not researching port parking rates – Port parking is affordable, safe and secure. Many people don’t realize this, which is why they choose other options and pay too much.
  • Not calculating traveling times – No matter how you’ll get there, you need to know how long it will take you to get to the port.
Don’t make the same mistakes that so many holidaymakers have made, research your travel options to select the most suitable one for you and your traveling companions, and make your travel arrangements in advance. Your next cruise holiday will be so much enjoyable as a result!

What Comes Next After Checking Point Inspection At an Airport?

Take a big sigh of relief. After the drive to the airport, the hike from the parking garage with trailing bags, and the checking point inspection, you have earned a rest. Find your boarding gate. Enjoy the item you brought to pass the time, browse stores, take a bathroom break, eat a snack or drink an adult beverage. If you anticipate a case of midair munchies or need to eat for medical reasons, buy refreshments before you board. Few flights offer free meals now. The concourse will include at least one restaurant or snack shop plus a newsstand that sells snacks. You may take food and non-alcoholic beverages onboard.

Speaking of alcohol, while airlines do not use breathalyzers, they do notice suspicious behaviour and have the right to deny boarding to travellers who appear intoxicated. If there is the slightest chance alcohol will induce a passenger to behave in a way that causes upset or harm to other passengers or crew or to himself, boarding is denied. Gate agents do not have to perform sobriety tests. They must err on the side of safety. Inebriated passengers will be required to wait (without consuming more alcohol) until the next flight to the destination.

Regardless of the manner by which you fill the extra time, do not walk away from your bags. A good way to miss your flight is to return to the spot where you left your bag to find it confiscated by Airport Security, necessitating a visit to the Security Office to retrieve your bag and endure a lecture. If you have to go to the restroom, take your bag. If you set your bag down in a shop to flip through a magazine, do not leave it while you wander to the trail mix display.

Return to the boarding area no less than thirty minutes prior to departure. Large jets begin boarding at least a half hour before departure time. Regional flights may board twenty to twenty five minutes before boarding. Crews begin final departure preparations ten minutes prior to departure. For this reason, the doors will close to passengers and in most cases, no further boarding will occur within ten minutes of departure. Invariably, latecomers will whine, ‘but this boarding pass says the plane doesn’t leave for five minutes!’ Right. But it cannot leave if the door is hanging open and people are still putting their belongings in the overhead compartment and the flight attendant has to repeat emergency instructions for passengers straggling onboard.

While you await boarding, you will hear many announcements on the public address system, so many they will become background sound. Please pay attention to those announcements. Most likely the announcements will not concern you. However, if a gate change announcement is made for your flight and you continue to wait at the wrong gate you could miss your flight. If you are travelling with EasyJet, the most popular low cost British airline, use Easyjet contact number to get the boarding details by speaking directly to their customer care representatives.

Ideal Places for a Romantic Date in Mumbai

One of the most loved cities in the world, Mumbai has a lot of things for everyone who visits the city. From the mighty Gateway of India to the ancient Ajanta Ellora caves, there are a lot of places that are a tourist’s delight. But if you are the one who have already seen most of them and want to go on a romantic date instead then don’t worry, Mumbai has some of the most romantic restaurants in the country. Just book your Cochin to Mumbai flights and come here to have an awesome time with your loved ones. With excellent ambience, a well-stocked bar and good combination of cuisines, here are some of the restaurants that will help you set up a romantic date with your loved ones.

Get the list of Restaurants here:

1. Aer: Aer has seemingly the most glorious perspectives of Mumbai and the perspective inside isn't too terrible either, with its chic moderate stylistic theme and striking egg-formed bar. Spread over the 34th floor of the Four Seasons lodging, the outside parlor is the place Mumbai's all around heeled gather. All things considered, there's truly nothing more sentimental than mezze and mojitos under the stars, right?

2. Dome: Based on the housetop of the Intercontinental Hotel. The all-white feel is lovely, the perspective significantly all the more so - surrounding you, the grinning lights of the Queen's' Necklace gleam and twinkle at you, while the inky Arabian Sea hurls delicately underneath. The bar is arranged inside its eponymous vault and produces some great mixed drinks. It's sure to impress them.

3. The Sassy Spoon: Inside all the conflict and clatter of business area Nariman Point, sneaks one of Mumbai's prettiest eateries – The Sassy Spoon. The French-enlivened stylistic layout is peculiar and beautiful –think gauzy blinds, ceiling fixtures, pixie lights, a spot of fuchsia outfitting and a whole mass of disintegrating vintage bags. Culinary specialist Irfan Pabaney's food is generally European with a touch of caprice, so you taste flavor fully odd dishes, for example, cooked red grape and lager ricotta in ragi baguette and braised sesame and anise pork paunch.

4. Bay View: No one goes to Bay View Café for the stylistic layout. No one goes to Bay View for its nourishment either – it's the typical fiery bar grub that is awesome for drenching up liquor (kebabs, bean stew potatoes, fish fingers and suchlike). What Bay View brags of however, is a completely tearing perspective of the ocean. Roosted on Hotel Harbor View in Colaba, Bay View is a budget housetop eatery and bar: there is nothing entirely as delightful as offering a chilled lager to your dearest while looking at the sky blue waters past.

5. Pali Village Cafe: Pali Village Café is the widely adored fashionable person frequent. Peeling dividers, wooden seats, blurred old photos and exposed block dividers don't sound exceptionally sentimental yet at PVC, they all meet up to make an inconceivable air vibe. For a much more personal experience, ascend the whirling staircase to the gallery on the mezzanine, where you'll discover superbly private two-seater tables.

6. The Tasting Room: Sitting easily above Lower Parel's up-to-date way of life store Good Earth, is The Tasting Room. In its warm, captivating environs, it's anything but difficult to envision that you and your sweetheart are eating in a comfortable little bistro in Paris. The culinary expert serves up a delectable Mediterranean menu, with strong cooking that isn't excessively poncy or influenced. In any case, for the individuals who wish to shun the edibles inside and out, The Tasting Room has an eagerly loaded wine bar (300 wines and numbering); an incredible best place to unwind over that tall jug of Bordeaux red.

With so many romantic places to visit in Mumbai get ready to have a cozy time with your loved ones in the city of dreams.

What Dylan Hillion, French Backpacker, Saw in His Adventure to Bac Son Valley in Vietnam Was Incredible

I wished to go outside Hanoi to discover a new place in Vietnam where I’ll enjoy a peaceful area. That’s why, with my team, I decided to travel to a Vietnamese town called Bac Son.

Bac Son Valley, a rural place of Lang Son Province, is located in the northeast of Vietnam, at around 160 kilometers from Hanoi. Traveling to Bac Son is the authenticity of Vietnam Adventure. This traditional village is a perfect place to be in a quiet and wonderful landscape and also to leave a truly local experience where only local people live far from the tourists.

Our trip began by a 4 driving hours in motorbike to go to Bac Son from Hanoi. A trip where I could admired the landscape in the small roads of Vietnam.  We crossed some city and townships, where I could look at the differences between the big city like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh and this place in the middle of nowhere. The scenery was a perfect mix between the nature with rice or cereals culture, some small cities and local towns. By taking this kind of trip, we know why Vietnam is such a unique country.  A good experience to understand Vietnam and Vietnamese culture.  After this 4 hours, I was really excited to be there and not tired at all.

For the night, we spend it on a homestay in a local family, belonging to the Tay ethnic (ethnic living in Bac Son on stilts houses) , where we enjoyed the best Vietnamese food ( sticky rice, eggs, noodle, beef, vegetables, etc...). For the drink lovers, we had the chance to try the local alcohol made with rice, a unique drink.

This is a truly local experience where we could interact with the family and know more about the local culture and habits. It was also the great time to tried Vietnamese cards game, called by myself as Vietnamese poker. An easy and funny way to spend the night. After being lucky and winning some money at this game, I spend a great night and get ready for our first day in this awesome village.

First of all, we discovered an amazing valley where colorful rice fields was crossed by the rivers and surrounding by the mountains, the perfect match made by Mother Nature. The biggest difference with city like Hanoi, it’s the calm and the peace that prevail in the village. We spend a perfect moment by walking into the center of the traditional village. Admired the unique architecture of the houses, forgot the modern and crowded way of our city and enjoy the peaceful area of the village. We also try the local donuts to gain strength before our trekking into the mountain!

Secondly, to enjoy more this place, we needed to go on the top of the mountain to overtake the cell phone tower situated atop. A funny and unforgettable trekking on a mountain where nature is king. This trekking is very unique, no men’s installations, just you and the nature. It wasn’t the easiest trekking, but for sure it was one of the most amazing I did.

Arriving on the top, we admired an incredible view out of sight, where the traditional houses mix perfectly with the color of the fields and mountains. This is at this moment, than I understand why people call it the green paradise on the earth.

The valley was so beautiful, so natural, than you feel like walking on the world. I had the feeling of being the king of the world, It was like it was open to me ! I just wanted to stay there all the day to relax and enjoy the view but so much things waited for me on the foot of mountain.

Then, back down, a big adventure moment where we did more climbing than hiking, but I went down safely, with a big smile and a lot of unforgettables memories.

To continue, we went back to the local houses to eat a Vietnamese lunch and enjoy the sunny weather. It was also a good time to take a rest after our adventure morning trip into the mountains and to see again the welcomed family. Then, we took a small trip in the road of Bac Son to a traditional communal house.

During this trip, we could look around us and enjoy the atmosphere. The view of this green valley made me feel relax and happy. Arriving in the temple, I could admired an amazing temple with a traditional architecture, and also take incredible pictures of it with the beautiful landscape behind the temple, where the color of the mountains match perfectly with the wood of the temple and the rising sun. A unique traditional place I got the chance to enjoy!

Unfortunately, we needed to come back to Hanoi, but this time spend in Bac Son was incredible and we could enjoy one of the most beautiful and natural place in the world, perfect for the body, the mind and the eyes! Being in good shape and got unforgettables memories, that’s the risk to travel to Bac Son!

To conclude, Bac Son has everything to become one exciting destination for tourists from all parts of the world. It meets the needs of different travel such as understanding the local culture and life of ethnic minorities, learn methods of rice cultivation and horticulture farmers, scenic hiking , trekking, bicycling…

Well positioned Bac Son Valley creates a great combination of the valley itself and the surrounding landscapes to offer tourists more interesting and enjoyable adventures. It is definitely my favorite place to clear my mind and enjoy the tranquility in an amazing landscape. Seeing such a beautiful place will make you realize that Mother Nature has so much to offer. One of the best experiences many people look up to is going for a vacation in a place away from home probably overseas. You can anticipate that day you will be in a foreign land with your personal yacht cruising the cool seas of a place you may have never been. The trouble that yacht owners face before their vacation is a means of transporting it from their home country to a new place. You may think of hauling it at the back of your car but what about when you are going to a far beach that is not in your country? Worry no more because yacht transport ship is always available to anyone planning to go for holidays with his/her boat as such organizations as sevenseasus exist.

Well having said that, here are some of the reasons why holiday goers should opt for yacht transport ship services rather than sailing themselves or using other weird means;
Safety
Why should you risk cruising in foreign waters where you may have never been? Pirates may be on your neck or an accident may be in waiting. Using yacht transport ship service is always the best idea because the transporters will be under the care of the yacht. In case it gets damaged while on transport, you will never be faced with the stress of catering for the repair cost.
Peace of Mind
Why should you spend a better part of your holiday cruising when you can board a plane to your destination and get your yacht at the destination? With ships that can comfortably transport your yacht, all that you have to do is to instruct them when and where you want to find it.
No Wear and Tear
It is true that you can sail your yacht to the destination but if it’s too far, chances of having it damaged increases. For example, you can reach that beach but before you start your fun holidays, you may end up discovering that its engine is no longer working properly because of the long distance covered.
To avoid such worries, consulting a yacht transport ship company will be the best decision made before the holiday great experience begins.
